Day #15…Saturday, February 14, 2015
Sea Day #1 Heading to Santos, Brazil

Salvador beach
We arose early this morning because Bonnie had a nail appointment in the Lotus Spa and Dennis attended a euchre player get together in the Adagio Bar area.  We then both attended a destination port presentation on Santos, Brazil.  We are excited to visit the city and our waiter, Luciana, who is from Santos, has been giving us valuable information on important places to visit there.

After the port presentation, we attended a special interest lecture titled “Today’s Piracy and Security” with Captain Vincent Williams.  He offered valuable and surprising facts about the problems with piracy as it occurs today and also from an historical prospective.

Since today is Valentine’s Day, the ship was decorated with hearts, flowers and red and white streamers.  Many passengers wore red today and celebrated in style.

Dennis spent some time in the sun and then we met Judy and Frank to play some euchre in the afternoon.  The weather is very warm and we usually play cards on the pool deck.  Today the humidity and heat were so high, we moved to the Horizon Court and into air conditioning, so we could enjoy our games.

Tonight was the last formal night of the first segment of our cruise.  We joined our tablemates in the dining room and enjoyed lobster tails and tiger pawns.  After dinner, we listened to the Princess Singers and Dancers perform a production show titled “Once Upon a Dream.”  The ship’s captain also gave a farewell address as he is leaving the Ruby Princess in Rio.  A new and more experienced captain will be our navigator for the rest of our cruise.

Tomorrow is our second sea day before we arrive in Santos, Brazil on February 16, 2015.
