Sea Day #2…Heading to Santos, Brazil
Salvador Church
This was a very busy day for us today as we ate a light breakfast and headed to the Adagio Bar for a euchre player get-together.  Fifteen (15) players from Canada, Australia and the U.S. enjoyed the morning playing different versions of the game.

Immediately after playing cards, we headed to the Princess Theater for a port talk on Rio de Janeiro with port lecturer, Hutch.  We also received a written letter from the cruise staff regarding safety in Rio, especially since this is Carnival week there.

Then we visited a camera expo featured by the cruise staff.  We will continue to check out some of the new models and their features before we decide if we need a new one.

A member of the ship’s officers’ staff gave a lecture titled “Navigation at Sea”.  He explained the navigational system used by the ship and how the crewmembers utilize the instrumentation to guide the ship on its journey at sea.

The navigational chart was also auctioned off and the winning bid was only $175.00.  That is the cheapest winning navigational chart bid we have ever seen.  The proceeds go to a Princess charity so money raised is for a good cause.

Bill did not join us for the dinner meal as he was not feeling well.  He and Stella plan to stay on board tomorrow and refrain from going ashore in Santos.  We will be joining Frank and Judy for a private tour of the city.

A violinist, Greg Scott, entertained us in the Princess Theater tonight.  He is an English musician and received a standing ovation, the first one we have witnessed on this cruise so far.

In the early morning, we will be getting off the ship early and tour the city of Santos, Brazil.  We will be retiring early tonight so that we can enjoy the sights during the day tomorrow.
