Sea Day #1 Heading to Pisco, Peru
Coquimbo, Chile |
Bonnie got up early and had a pedicure appointment at the
Lotus Spa. Dennis stayed in the cabin
and rested a while longer. We ate a
continental breakfast and headed to the Princess Theater for a destination
lecture titled: Pisco (San Martin),
Peru.
We then sat in the Piazza playing games on our I-pads and
taking it easy. Dennis had to leave the
theater earlier because he was coughing so badly. We bought some cough drops in La Serena but
they do not seem to be working very well.
After a light lunch at the Trident Grill, we returned to our
room so Dennis could rest again. We were
going to sit outside but the air is chilly and the sky is cloudy today. We will hope for warmer weather tomorrow as
the warmth and sunshine should make him feel better.
We are not going to formal night in the dining room this
evening. Even before Dennis became ill,
we had told our tablemates not to plan on seeing us on any more formal
nights. The last segment of this cruise
just started and there are three (3) scheduled formal nights on this final leg
of the trip. We will be dining in the
Horizon Court as an alternative formal night dinner plan.
The Princess Singers and Dancers are performing tonight and
we have already attended all their production shows. The shows are repeated each segment and we
are not happy that the same show will be offered tonight for the third time
during our cruise. Many of us are on
board for the full 49 days and appreciate some variety in the entertainment
that is offered.
Stella left us a message that she does not feel well today
and will be resting in her room. She and
Bill had a very bad colds last week and the week before and missed some
evenings with us. Both sets of our
friends enjoy playing euchre and even our card playing times have suffered with
so many getting sick on this cruise. Our
friend, Frank, visited the medical center recently for a sinus infection and
allergies and is finally feeling better.
Yesterday, his wife, Judy bought a Z-pack from a Chilean pharmacy in La
Serena and did not need a prescription.
It costs her $22.00 right from the shelf.
We will lay low the rest of the day today and then hopefully
get together with our friends tomorrow.
We did manage to attend a game show titled “Majority Rules” tonight and
entered as a team called “The Berry Best.”
Unfortunately we did not do very well, but had an enjoyable time trying
to choose the most popular answer to questions presented to the audience. One team had a perfect score and that seemed
almost impossible to us. They must be
seasoned players!
