Sea Day #2…Heading to Costa Rica
We moved our clocks back an hour last night so we gained
another hour of sleep. Time is changing
more often now as our cruise is winding down.
We will be changing our clocks a few more times before we arrive in LA
on March 21st.
We ate breakfast and headed to the Princess Theater for the
destination lecture for Puntarénes/San José, Costa Rica. We stayed in the theater to listen to another
special interest lecture by the retired prosecuting attorney from LA, Robert
Schirn. This lecture was titled an overview
of the O.J. Simpson case and what an eye opener! The evidence that was presented to the jury
made one wonder about the verdict.
The weather is hot so we sat near one of the pools
again. We crossed the Equator so at 12
Noon there was another “Crossing the Equator” ceremony for those who crossed it
for the first time. It is always an
entertaining event to watch.
Judy and Frank found us near the pool area and wanted to
play euchre so we played three games.
The men were victorious with a score of 2 to 1.
Tonight we did not dress up for formal night and ate in the
Horizon Court. We were shocked to see so
many who chose the same dining option as us.
The formal dining rooms have to be pretty empty tonight.
We visited the art gallery again as we have some questions
about framing our pieces. We have 40
days to change our minds and we have pretty much decided that we will refrain
from buying one of our selections.
The Princess Theater show tonight is a repeat of one from
each of the other segments. There have
been so many repetitions on this cruise and it has been very
disappointing. Over 1700 of us on the
cruise started from the beginning in Fort Lauderdale and are doing the full 49
days. Yet the entertainment, games and
menus continue to be repeated and many passengers are very unhappy.
We met Bill and Stella so Dennis could assist them with
their emails again. We will not be
playing cards again tonight as we played last night and this afternoon. A movie “The Best of Me” is playing at the
Movie Under the Stars near the Calypso Pool so we will see if it is worth
staying to view.
Tomorrow is our third sea day before we arrive in Costa
Rica. We have visited Costa Rica in the
past, but not in the area where our ship will dock this time. We cancelled our Princess excursion and
decided to go out on our own with Frank and Judy. It is considerably cheaper to find our own
tours and we have not been disappointed in our private tours so far.
